Summary of release fallback

All metadata must be downgraded while the system is running R3.5, to a version that is supported by the target release for the fallback. The correspondence between SQL/MX releases and supported metadata versions are as follows:
  • R3.3 supports version 1200, version 3000, version 3100, and version 3200 metadata

  • R3.4 supports version 1200, version 3000, version 3100, version 3200 and version 3400 metadata

  • R3.5 supports version 3000, version 3100, version 3200, version 3400 and version 3500 metadata

  • A clean TMF shutdown must be performed twice on R3.5, with no intervening database activity

  • mxtool fixrcb must be performed as the very first SQL/MX activity after the release fallback

  • Application modules must be recompiled after the release fallback

HPE recommends you to remove CQDs introduced in R3.5 from the SYSTEM_DEFAULTS table, as they may cause warnings from static module compilations on previous versions.
