The InstallDBS script

The InstallDBS is a new script introduced in SQL/MX R3.5 along with other SQL/MX installation scripts (in /usr/tandem/sqlmx/bin). This script is used to perform the initial configuration of the DBS environment. If you do not want to configure the DBS environment, you need not run the script, in which case all of the metadata tables in the SYSTEM_DBS_SCHEMA will be empty.

The script adds configuration information into the DBS metadata, Safeguard, MXCS, and NSK, based on user input information that describes overall configuration, as well as the set of volumes that are available for user database.

The InstallDBS script must be run by SUPER.SUPER from an OSS command prompt.

For more information on the syntax and how to run the script, see the SQL/MX Database Services Manual.
