Create Threshold Alert

You can hover over fields to display tooltips.

General

Choose a storage system for the threshold alert. To apply an alert template, click Select and follow the instructions on the dialog that opens.

After you have selected an alert template, you can accept the default alert name or you can change the name. Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends that you give each alert a unique name.

If you enable the Suspend repeat alerts option, it enables you to suspend the repeated alerts for either minutes, hours, or days.

You can also enable or disable an email notification for the threshold alert. To view and edit email recipients, select the Enable email notification option. The list of recipients is specific to each user.

Objects

By default, all applicable resources (objects) of the component type are included in the threshold alert. For many alerts, you can create a filter that limits the resources (objects) that are included in the alert.

If available, you can choose the Select objects option, and then click Add or Remove and follow the instructions on the dialog that opens.

If available, you can select the Select object rules option, and then click Add or Remove and follow the instructions on the dialog that opens.

You can also enable or disable the Alert on object count setting.

Metrics

Some threshold alert templates include default metrics. To add a metric click Add metrics and select the metric. To remove a metric, click its delete icon ().).

As you edit the individual metrics, the query at the top of the metrics panel is updated.

To choose whether a logical AND or logical OR operator is applied to a metric, select the logical operator. To change the order of the metrics, hover over the up/down icon and drag the metric to a new location.

When you have completed your choices, click Create to accept your choices and close the dialog, or click Create + to accept your choices and keep the dialog open.
