Editing host

You can hover over fields to display tooltips.

To navigate to Hosts screen and edit a host, do the following:

Procedure
  1. On the main menu, select Block Persona > Hosts.
  2. Click Edit on the Actions menu.

    The Edit host dialog opens.

  3. Enter or select your choices for required and optional settings.

    General

    Name:

    Unique name for the app volume set. Name of the application instance consuming storage from the virtual volumes on the 3PAR storage system.

    System:

    Name of the storage system you select.

    Domain:

    The domain in which you create the host.

    Host OS:

    Operating system running on the host.

    Persona:

    Internal setting that enables the host to implement different iSCSI functionality. The selection of a persona is automatic and based on the operating system of the host.

    Paths

    To add host paths, click the Add FC or Add iSCSI and follow the instructions on the dialog that opens. To remove a path from the list, click its delete icon ().).

    To edit a Smart SAN path, click its edit icon () and follow the instructions on the dialog that opens. Learn more:) and follow the instructions on the dialog that opens. Learn more: Smart SAN software.

    CHAP Settings

    For an iSCSI host, enter your choices for CHAP security settings.

    NOTE:

    By default, <host-name> is assigned to initiator CHAP name and <array-name> is assigned to the target CHAP name.

    Additional Settings

    To enter optional information about the host, click the Descriptors expand icon ( ).

  4. When you have completed your choices, click OK to start the action and close the dialog.
