Types of synchronization for Remote Copy

Remote Copy performs one of two types of synchronization on Remote Copy groups:

Full synchronization

Remote Copy copies the entire primary Remote Copy group.

Initial synchronization of data is always a full synchronization when you create a Remote Copy group. Full synchronization also occurs if the administrator forces a full synchronization of the volumes in a Remote Copy group. Full synchronization occurs regardless of mode (asynchronous periodic, asynchronous streaming, or synchronous) when a group is started for the first time.

Resynchronization

Remote Copy copies only the data that has changed since the previous synchronization.
