Platform Management

The following table describes the parameters in the platform_management section with example values:

Parameters Description
root_pw Enter the root password. This password is used to login to ESXi after the installation, before the ESXi configuration is done.
NOTE:

The root password must conform to following conventions:

  • The minimum number of permissible characters is 7.

  • The maximum number of permissible characters is 20.

  • The password must contain at least 1 numeral.

  • The password must contain at least 1 lowercase alphabet.

  • The password must contain at least 1 uppercase alphabet.

customer_network_cidr Enter the cidr of OAM network.
customer_network_gw Enter the Gateway of OAM network.
customer_network_ip Enter the OAM IP that assigned to NPS toolkit VM.
dhcp_range Enter the DHCP range for the image service.
os_type_with_version Enter the OS type with version.
iso_filepath Enter the iso file full path with iso name.
dns_servers Enter the DNS server details.
ntp_servers Enter the NTP server details.
description Enter the description.
domain_name Enter the domain name.
timezone Enter the appropriate timezone.
privacy_protocol Sets the encryption algorithm to use for encoding the privacy passphrase. A portion of an SNMP message is encrypted before transmission.
destination_ip The IP address of a remote management system that receives SNMP alerts.
auth_passphrase Sets the passphrase to use for sign operations. String with 8-49 characters.
auth_protocol Sets the message digest algorithm to use for encoding the authorization passphrase. The message digest is calculated over an appropriate portion of an SNMP message and is included as part of the message sent to the recipient.
trap_community The configured SNMPv1 trap community string.
privacy_passphrase Sets the passphrase to use for encrypt operations. String with 8-49 characters.
security_name Provides the SNMPv3 security name associated with SNMPv3trap or SNMPv3Inform set on SNMPAlertProtocol.
snmp_alert_protocol Indicates the SNMP protocol associated with the AlertDestination.
