Networking

The networking section consists of two subsections, underlay and overlay. The underlay subsection contains the following blocks of VLAN parameters: ILO-OOBM, vMotion, vSAN, ESXI_MGMT, vCENTER_HA, VM_MGMT, API, OAM, EXTERNAL, PROVIDER-VLAN, and L3-VNI.

The following table describes the parameters in the underlay subsection with the example values:

NOTE:

The details of a network are provided as an example in the following table. The remaining networks must be similarly configured.

Table 8: Underlay
Parameters Description
underlay Underlay is the Layer 3 (L3) IP network that routes VXLAN packets as normal IP traffic.
name Enter the descriptive name of the corresponding network.
NOTE:

We recommend not to use the same name for multiple networks.

type

Type of the network corresponding to the network diagram. This field is autopopulated after JSON generation.

cidr Enter the cidr value based on the customer input.
description Enter the description of the corresponding network.
gateway Enter the gateway value based on the network.
ip_range_start Enter the IP address range based on the server and switch counts.
ip_range_end

Enter the IP address range based on the server and switch counts.

vlan Enter the vlan value based on the customer input.
vlan_range The total range of the VLANs that can be used.
NOTE:

This parameter is applicable only to the PROVIDER-VLAN network.

vxlan Enter the vxlan value based on the customer input.
vxlan_range The total range of the VxLANs that can be used.
NOTE:

This parameter is applicable only to the PROVIDER-VLAN network.

Table 9: Overlay
Overlay The underlay is the Layer 3 (L3) IP network that routes VXLAN packets as normal IP traffic. The overlay refers to the virtual Ethernet segment created by this forwarding.
name Enter the descriptive name of the corresponding network.
NOTE:

We recommend not to use the same name for multiple networks.
