Golden Images

Golden Image is the conventional version of a cloned disk that is used as a template for different kinds of virtual network hardware. In Image Streamer, a Golden Image can be customized for deployment using artifacts. A Golden Image is used along with an OS Build Plan of Type deploy to create a Deployment Plan. This Deployment Plan is then used to deploy the Golden Image on a server. The process of using a Deployment Plan to deploy a server is called personalization.

A Golden Image can also be the captured content of a previously deployed boot disk. The captured content is generalized to remove system-specific content, such as a hostname or an IP address.
NOTE:

A Golden Image is in a zip format.
