Create an artifact bundle

Prerequisites

Software administrator, Backup administrator, or Infrastructure administrator

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select Artifact Bundles.
  2. From the master pane of the Artifact bundles screen, select either Create artifact bundle, or select Create from the Actions menu.
  3. Enter the Name and Description of the artifact bundle.
  4. You can add any or all of the following artifacts to your artifact bundle:
    • Deployment Plans — Click Add deployment plan to add one or more Deployment Plans.

Add deployment plan dialog pops up. Select one or more Deployment Plans from the Add deployment plan dialog. This dialog lists the Deployment Plans that are not present in the current artifact bundle.

The various artifacts sections in the Create Artifact bundle dialog get populated with the other artifacts, namely, OS Build Plan, Golden Image, and Plan Script that are present in the selected Deployment Plan.

    • OS Build Plans — Click Add OS build plan to add one or more OS Build Plans.

Add OS build plan dialog pops up. Select one or more OS Build Plans from the Add OS build plans dialog. This dialog lists the OS Build Plans that are not present in the current artifact bundle.

    • Golden Images — Click Add golden image to add one or more Golden Images. Add golden images dialog pops up. Select one or more Golden Images from add golden images dialog. This dialog lists the Golden Images that are not present in the current artifact bundle.

    • Plan Scripts — Click Add plan script to add one or more Plan Scripts.

Add plan script dialog pops up. Select one or more Plan Scripts from the Add plan script dialog. This dialog lists the Plan Scripts that are not present in the current artifact bundle. For each of the selected artifacts:

Select the Read-only option to set this attribute for the artifact.

When you set a top-level artifact as read-only, then all the associated artifacts also become read-only.

      NOTE:

Selecting a higher-level artifact for an artifact bundle automatically selects the dependent artifacts. For example, if you select a Deployment Plan, the related Golden Image and OS Build Plan are selected. The selected OS Build Plan also contains the related Plan Scripts.

  5. Click Add in the different artifact add dialogs to add the selected artifact. The Add dialog does not list the artifacts that are already included in the artifact bundle.
    1. When you add a Deployment Plan, it also adds the associated OS Build Plan, Plan Scripts, and the Golden Image.
    2. When you add an OS Build Plan, it also adds the associated Plan Scripts.
  6. From the Create artifact bundle screen, you can review all the newly added artifacts. You can add and remove one or more artifacts that you have selected for the artifact bundle.
    1. If you remove one or more artifacts using the icon, then the artifact is removed immediately from the artifact bundle, unless referenced by other artifacts. If the artifact is referenced, then a dialog containing information about the references is displayed. In cases where the artifact that is intended for removal is in use, then you cannot remove the artifact.
    2. You can always remove a Deployment Plan and any artifact that is not being used.
  7. Click Create to create the artifact bundle with the selected set of artifacts.
    • No duplicate artifacts are packaged together.

    • You can view the details of the artifact bundle in the task pane.
