Create a Deployment Plan

Prerequisites

You must be logged in as a Software administrator to create a Deployment Plan.

Procedure

  1. From the main menu, select Deployment Plans.
  2. From the master pane of the Deployment Plan screen, select either Create Deployment Plan in the master pane, or select Create from the Actions menu.
  3. Perform the following actions in the Create Deployment Plan dialog:
    1. Name — Specify a name for the Deployment Plan.
    2. Description — Add a description about the Deployment Plan.
    3. OS Build Plan — Search and select an OS Build Plan that you want to use for deployment. Custom attributes are available when you select an OS Build Plan. The default values in the OS Build Plan are not overridden by the assigned new values.

      • Name — Displays the name of the custom attribute.

      • Type — Displays the data type of the values assigned to the OS Build Plan.

      • Constraint — Specifies the constraint.

      • Visible on deployment — Select this option to make the custom attributes available on the server profile page. By default, this value is selected.

      • Lock Control — Lock or unlock to make the custom attribute available for editing on the server profile page. If you use the unlock option for any of the custom attributes, then the Visible on deployment option is automatically selected and the custom attribute is disabled to allow changes. By default, all the custom attributes are unlocked.

    4. Value — Displays the default value of the custom attribute.
    5. Golden image — Search and select a Golden Image that you want to use for deployment. However, selecting an image is optional.
  4. Click Create to create the Deployment Plan or Create+ to create multiple Deployment Plans.
