Express Protect details
Prerequisites for adding Express Protects
Catalyst license is available on HPE StoreOnce.
HPE StoreOnce is registered with RMC.
The vCenter server, VMware ESXi, HPE 3PAR, HPE Primera, HPE StoreOnce, and RMC are time synchronized.
- Copy Target
Click Select and then select a target store. Select the Auto option to let RMC select a target store.
- (Only for HPE StoreOnce GEN4 systems) Data Mover Type
Select the data mover type - RMC Appliance or StoreOnce Appliance.
- Source
By default, the source for an Express Protect is snapshot.
- Frequency
- The following frequencies are available:
- Hourly
- Daily
- Weekly
- Monthly
- Recurrence
For the Weekly and Monthly frequencies, select the days on which you want to run the schedule. For the Monthly frequency, additionally you can specify the date on which you want to run the schedule. Last Day of Month option is available to run the schedule on the last day of the month.
- Auto Delete after
(Optional) Expiration time for the copy. The minimum time must be one hour. The maximum time can be 43,800 hours or 1,825 days.
- Prevent deletion until
(Optional) Retention time for the copy. The minimum time must be one hour. The maximum time can be 43,800 hours or 1,825 days.
- Verify
Select to validate data integrity of Express Protect with the corresponding snapshot.
Advanced settings
- Storage System Transport Protocol
Select the protocol type for communication with storage system — FC or iSCSI. Select the Auto option to let RMC select a protocol.
- Backup System Transport Protocol
Select the protocol type for communication with HPE StoreOnce — Ethernet or FC. Select the Auto option to let RMC select a protocol.
- Number of Streams
Select the number of streams based on your HPE StoreOnce configuration. The supported multistreaming fragments are 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32. Select the Auto option to let RMC select the number of streams.
