Unable to create RCFC link due to incorrect connection or zoning

Symptom

HPE SSMC displays an error message stating that it is unable to create an RCFC link between the selected systems. Verify the connection and zoning setup.

NOTE:

RCFC ports are supported in HPE Primera OS 4.1 or later and HPE SSMC 3.6.1 or later.

Solution 1
Cause

Only one system has been selected.

Action
Select another system and then select a port.
Solution 2
Cause

The selected systems are not in the same SAN configuration.

Action
Choose a system from the same SAN zone.
Solution 3
Cause

The RCFC ports of the connecting storage systems are not physically zoned together.

Action
  1. Note the N:S:P of the ports you are trying to link.
  2. On the HPE SSMC main menu, select Ports under STORAGE SYSTEMS.
  3. Select one of the ports.

The port of the storage system that is in the same zone is displayed under Connected Devices.

  4. Verify that the fabric zoning is one-to-one and the port shown is what is expected.
    1. If the wrong system or more than one port displays, correct the zoning, and then go to the next step.
    2. If the correct port and system displays, go to the next step.
  5. Return to the HPE SSMC Remote Copy Configurations screen and create the RCFC links.
  6. If the RCFC links still cannot be created, see Invalid RCFC link due to bad zoning.
