Remote Copy recover operation

Recovery changes the primary Remote Copy groups on the target system to secondary groups and then starts and synchronizes all groups.

Perform a restore to start data synchronization but not return immediately to a prefailover state once the failover system is back up. When you are ready to return to a prefailover state, then you can perform a restore.

To start data synchronization and immediately return to a prefailover state, perform a restore.

A recover operation:
  • Reverses the direction of replication.

  • Synchronizes the changes from the target to the source storage system for a Remote Copy group.

  • Changes the Remote Copy group Source role to Secondary-Rev.

  • Prevents hosts connected to the source system from having write access on the LUNs that are associated with the virtual volumes in the Remote Copy group.
