Direction of data flow

Under normal operating conditions, data flows from the primary Remote Copy group to the secondary Remote Copy group.

Under the following circumstances, the direction of data flow temporarily changes or is temporarily stopped:

• Disaster recovery

• System maintenance and hardware replacement

• Scheduled downtime

Changing the direction of data flow reverses the replication direction of the Remote Copy groups.
