Remote Copy port on a controller node

The rear view of a controller node contains the ports for Remote Copy. The controller node has two built-in Ethernet ports, but only one port per node is permitted for Remote Copy over IP (RCIP) use. The RCIP port is labeled as Slot-1 and 10 GbE. The built-in RCIP ports have 10Gb optical SFPs installed. The ports do not support 10base T, RJ45, Cat5 or Cat6.

Remote Copy over FC (RCFC) ports are on the host adapters installed on the controller nodes. Any available FC port can be used for RCFC. The FC ports are in Slot-3 and Slot-4 on all models. The HPE Primera 650 and 670 controller nodes also have FC ports in Slot-5.

The following figure shows, as an example, the RCIP and RCFC ports in an HPE Primera 630 controller node.
