Telemetry/Call home service

Telemetry or Call home feature is a Remote Support service. The Telemetry service runs on HPE Primera storage systems from HPE Primera OS 4.0 and later. The Telemetry service is part of a separate software called Service Processor for storage systems with previous HPE Storage OS versions.

The Remote Support service collects data from the storage system in predefined intervals as well as on-demand basis. If configured, the service then sends the data to Hewlett Packard Enterprise Remote Support. The HPE support team uses the data for analytics and creates support cases if they detect a potential issue in the customer environment. You can enable or disable the data collection feature.

NOTE:

Telemetry/Call home service is available for 3.3.1 MU2 or above and uses SP 5.0.6 to gather data.
