Adding vCenter

You can add a vCenter to the Service Processor configured in HPE SSMC. After HPE SSMC acknowledges the vCenters, the data from the relevant Virtual machine is collected. HPE SSMC collects the data from the Service Processor which consists of the vCenter.

You can hover over fields to display tooltips.

To add a vCenter in the Service Processor from HPE SSMC, do the following:

  1. On the main menu, select Storage Systems > Systems.
  2. In the list pane, select a storage system, and then click Edit on the Actions menu.

    The Edit dialog opens.

  3. Navigate to the Virtual Machine Managers panel in the Edit dialog.

    The Virtual Machine Managers panel enables you to add a vCenter.

  4. Click Add vCenter in the Virtual Machine Managers panel.

    The Add vCenter dialog opens.

  5. Enter or select your choices for required and optional settings.
    vCenter name

    Name for the vCenter.

    Host name/IP

    Host name or IP address of the vCenter.


    vCenter port.


    vCenter user name.


    vCenter password.


    Additional description that you want to include.

  6. When you have completed your choices, click Add to start the action and close the dialog; otherwise click Cancel. To add a vCenter and keep the dialog open, click Add+.
