Create Report

You can hover over fields to display tooltips.

Some settings and options might not be available due to the report type or template that you selected.

  • General

    Select the storage system. To create one report at a time, select Create report. To create multiple default reports at one time, select Create multiple reports.

    • Create report option

      The Create report option allows you to create one report at a time. After you select a report template for a report, you can review the report settings and accept or change the settings before you create the report.

      To apply a report template, click Select and follow the instructions on the dialog that opens.

      After you have selected a template, you can accept the default report name or you can change the name.

      Tip: Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends that you give each report a unique name.

      You can also add a description for the report and specify an access type. Learn more: Report access types (system, private, public).

      If the Compare with option is displayed, you can compare the performance of the selected storage system with the performance of other storage systems. To add storage systems to a comparison, select Systems, and then click Add systems and follow the instructions on the dialog that opens.

    • Create multiple reports option

      The Create multiple reports option allows you to quickly create multiple default reports at one time. You cannot review or change report settings when you create the reports. The reports are created using all default settings. However, after default reports are created, you can edit and change their report settings.

      Tip: When a default report is generated more than once, a date and time suffix is automatically added to the report name.

      To add a report template to the list, click Add templates and follow the instructions on the dialog that opens.

      To remove a report template from the list, click its delete icon (), or click), or click Remove templates and follow the instructions on the dialog that opens.

  • Chart Options

    Many reports include choices for charting. Review the default charting options and change as appropriate to meet your requirements.

    If the Group by option is displayed, the report includes a separate entry for each combination of the attributes that you select.

  • Component

    The System Report - Performance Summary allows you to choose the components to include in the report. To include a component, click Add component and follow the instructions on the dialog that opens. To remove a component, click its delete icon (), or click).

  • Objects

    Some reports include choices for filtering the objects in a report. If available, you can choose the Select objects and then click Add objects or Remove objects and follow the instructions on the dialog that opens.

    Real time reports include a Select objects option with plotting choices for Individual series for each selected object or Aggregated series for all selected objects.

    If available, you can choose the Select object rules option, and then click Add or Remove and follow the instructions on the dialog that opens.

    To include virtual volume filters in your reports, select Enabled or Disabled as required in the Include virtual volume filter field. If available, you can choose Select virtual volume and then click Add virtual volumes or Remove virtual volumes and follow the instructions on the dialog that opens.

  • PDF Settings

    The System Report - Performance Summary allows you to choose the performance data type and amount of content (summary or detail) to include in PDF output.

  • Schedule

    Historical reports include a scheduling option. To immediately create a report, accept the default schedule pattern Once now. To create a report at another time, select Once later, Hourly, Daily, Weekly, or Advanced, as appropriate. Learn more: Specifying schedule patterns.

    You can also enable or disable an email notification for a scheduled report. Email server settings, SMTP server access authorization, from address, and email recipients are specified on the Settings screen. To view and edit email recipients, enable the Schedule email option.

    Tip: The Alert setting Generate if task failed does not apply to System Reporter schedules.

  • Time Settings

    If the report includes settings for a time interval or a specific time, review the default settings. Real time reports include a setting for the polling interval. You can change the settings to meet your requirements.

  • Time Selection

    Real time reports include a setting for the polling interval. Review the setting and change as appropriate to meet your requirements.

When you have completed your choices, click Create to accept your choices and close the dialog, or click Create + to accept your choices and keep the dialog open.
