Resetting password for Administrator console

Prerequisites
  • Configure SMTP to enable resetting the password at a later point in time. If the preferences are not configured, a message appears requesting you to configure SMTP. Only an Administrator has the privilege to configure SMTP.

  • Configure a password recovery email. If you forget to configure the recovery email, you cannot reset the password.

Procedure
  1. Check the Administrator Console check box in the login console to see the Forgot Password link.
  2. If you click the Forgot Password link and the preferences are not configured, a pop-up appears. The pop-up message displays: Unable to send password reset email since SMTP is not configured.
  3. If preferences are configured, then a password is successfully generated and sent to the registered email address. The password is temporary.
  4. Log in the Administrator Console using the temporary password.

A screen appears where you can change your password.

  5. Enter the new password and confirm it once again. The new password becomes your default password for logging into Administrator console.

You are requested to login using the change password dialog after you change the password. The password you log in with is set as the default password to login to Administrator Console.

  6. When you have completed your choice, click OK.

If you use the existing password, the new password which is generated/received over the email becomes invalid and conversely. The dialog to change password does not appear while using the existing password.
