Managing protocol settings

When a File Persona is initially configured, default protocol settings are established. You can use the dialog to view the protocol settings or to change certain settings for a File Persona on the storage system.

You can hover over fields to display tooltips.

Procedure
  1. On the main menu, select File Persona > File Persona Configuration.
  2. In the list pane, select the File Persona configuration, and then select Manage protocol settings in the Actions menu.
  3. Enter or select your choices for the protocol settings.

Displays the protocol settings for NFS file shares on the File Persona.

    NFSv4 IDMAP domain:

NFSv4 domain name for NFS ID mapping.

    Object Settings

    Allow persistent connections:

Set the option to True or False depending on whether you want persistent connections. A single connection can send or receive multiple requests.

    Maximum simultaneous connections:

The maximum number of connections that the server permits. When you reach the threshold, the server rejects the new connection.

    Read block size:

Read block size of the socket.

    Write block size:

    Allow opportunistic locks:

    Enable or disable the lock.

    Allow SMB1 connections:

Enables or disables SMB1 globally for client connections.

    NOTE:

For security reasons, SMB1 is disabled by default for newly configured File Persona instances. An administrator can disable SMB1 after upgrade for existing File Persona instances. Disable SMB1 only after you confirm that no clients require the type of access. If required, administrators can re-enable SMB1 support on newly configured instances for legacy support.

    Allow SMB2 connections:

Enables or disables SMB2 globally for client connections.

    Allow SMB3 connections:

Enables or disables SMB3 globally for client connections.

    SMB1 Active Directory connections
