Editing Preferences

Configure the preferences when you log in first to the Administrator console. If you have not configured already, a message appears requesting you to configure SMTP. Only an Administrator has the privilege to configure SMTP.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends you to configure SMTP when you first log in to enable resetting the administrator password using the Forgot password link.

  1. Log in to the Administrator Console.
  2. On the Actions menu, select Preferences.
  3. Enter or select your choices for required and optional settings. You can hover over fields to display tooltips.

    SMTP port

    SMTP server authorization

You can enable the option if the SMTP server supports authentication.

    From address

Enter a valid from address (email).

    Password Recovery Email address

Enter a valid email address for password recovery. If you forget the email credentials, you cannot reset the password.

  4. After setting the SMTP preferences, click Send test email.

The message Successfully sent test email. appears.

  5. Switch Yes or No for the Login banner message and FIPS mode enabled as required.
  6. Click OK to start the action and close the dialog, or click Cancel if you are not sure about the edit.

The OK option is disabled, until the test email is sent successfully.

The message banner indicating that SMTP is not configured disappears from the administrator console main screen.
