Configure the preferences when you log in first to the Administrator console. If you have not configured already, a message appears requesting you to configure SMTP. Only an Administrator has the privilege to configure SMTP.
IMPORTANT: Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends you to configure SMTP when you first log in to enable resetting the administrator password using the
Forgot password link.
Procedure

Log in to the
Administrator Console.

On the
Actions menu, select
Preferences.

Enter or select your choices for required and optional settings. You can hover over fields to display tooltips.
- SMTP server
SMTP server IP address or FQDN you want to configure.
- SMTP port
SMTP port you want to configure.
- SMTP server authorization
You can enable the option if the SMTP server supports authentication.
- From address
Enter a valid from address (email).
- Password Recovery Email address
Enter a valid email address for password recovery. If you forget the email credentials, you cannot reset the password.

After setting the SMTP preferences, click
Send test email.
The message
Successfully sent test email. appears.

Switch
Yes or
No for the
Login banner message and
FIPS mode enabled as required.

Click
OK to start the action and close the dialog, or click
Cancel if you are not sure about the edit.
NOTE: The
OK option is disabled, until the test email is sent successfully.
The message banner indicating that SMTP is not configured disappears from the administrator console main screen.
