Adding target (Remote Copy)

You can add more than one target in the Remote Copy configuration. The feature enables multiple port utilizations. You can use different targets for different mode selections.

To navigate to Data Protection screen and add one or more targets, do the following:

Procedure
  1. On the main menu, select Data Protection > Remote Copy Configurations.
  2. In the list pane, select a Remote Copy configuration, and then click Add target on the Actions menu.

    The Add Target dialog opens.

    You can hover over fields to display tooltips.

  3. Edit the required and optional settings.

    Systems

    The Systems panel displays the representation of storage systems in the Remote Copy configurations with available ports. You can select the available ports in the storage systems to create links. The new links are assigned to a new target. You can also add a storage system and create links.

    The ports are displayed based on the selection of the type filter. The types of ports available are FC and IP.

    Port pairs

    Displays the port pairs details in tabular format. The table provides information about:
    System:

    Name of the source storage system which includes the port.

    Port:

    Displays ports of the source storage system.

    Target Name:

    Name of the target storage system.

    Target Port:

    Displays ports of the target storage system.

    Target IP/WWN:

    Displays the IP/WWN of the target storage system.

  4. When you have completed your choices, click Add to start the action and close the dialog; otherwise, click Cancel.
