Advantages of synchronous mode replication

The advantages of synchronous mode replication is an RPO of zero (no data loss).

• Even if the primary system, the secondary system, or the communication links go down, both storage systems contain all the data for I/O that has already been acknowledged to the server to the point in time that the failure occurred.

• If a disaster affects the primary system and it goes down, the copy of the data that is stored on the secondary system is an exact replica of the data on the primary system and therefore can immediately be used to continue working in the application.
