Synchronization with asynchronous periodic mode volume groups

Initial synchronization takes a snapshot of all the virtual volumes in the Remote Copy group and replicates those snapshots to the secondary system. After the snapshot data has been replicated to the secondary system, a second set of delta snapshots is taken on the primary system. The difference between the initial snapshot and the set of delta snapshots is sent to the secondary system. The process continues until the difference data between the snapshots can be sent within the defined delta resynchronization interval defined for the group (the "period" value of the group).

Once the initial synchronization has completed, periodic asynchronous Remote Copy enters delta resynchronization mode. At this point, Remote Copy creates delta resynchronization snapshots every "period" value and sends the delta data to the secondary system. The delta data is the changes between the previous delta resynchronization snapshot and the new delta resynchronization snapshot.
