Remote Copy over Fibre Channel (RCFC) network transport requirements
For RCFC configurations, each link between storage systems is a physical link between a controller node on one storage system and a controller node on the other storage system in the configuration.
To use a Fibre Channel network for Remote Copy, the following requirements must be met.
Utilizing like node pairs (node 0 and 1 is an example of a node pair) on each storage system is recommended, but is not a requirement.
FC SAN is used to connect the storage systems (direct connect FC is not supported).
Each pair of RCFC ports between the primary and secondary system must be in their own zone. Fabric zones cannot be shared. A single initiator to a single port configuration and a dual fabric layout is preferred.
For example, only two ports per zone are allowed as shown in Zoning RCFC node pairs . Each zone must contain one port from the primary site and a second port from the secondary site.
Requirements in the SAN design Reference Guide are met.
Interrupt coalescing must be disabled on the RCFC ports.
