Replication directions in Remote Copy

Unidirectional – If replication occurs in only one direction in a storage system configuration, the configuration is under unidirectional replication.

Bidirectional – If replication is occurring in both directions in a storage system configuration, the configuration is under bidirectional replication. The systems in the Remote Copy configuration serve as both primary and secondary systems. The system role changes, depending on the volume group. The primary system is always the system with the primary volume groups.
