Restart or Shut down the HPE StoreEasy system using the management console

Restarting or shutting down the HPE StoreEasy system closes all open programs and exits the operating system. A user with either the Administrator or Operator role can restart or shut down the system from the management console.

In some instances, a regular restart or shut down is not possible. Possible causes are:
  • There are other users logged in through RDP or iLO.

  • Any ongoing operations.

If you choose the Force restart or the Force shut down option, the system logs out all active users and terminates all ongoing operations.

When the force options are used:
  • Any unsaved data is lost.

  • The system does not install pending updates.

  • Any ongoing software installation is terminated, leaving the application in an unknown state.

  • All other operations are terminated.

  • Active file sharing clients lose their connection.

NOTE:

If there are pending system updates, they are installed during the system restart or shutdown. The restart or shutdown might therefore take longer than expected. You can view the installation status using a remote console (iLO) or using a KVM (Keyboard, Video, and Mouse) console attached to the HPE StoreEasy Storage system.
