Encryption

SMB 3.0 and later provides an encryption feature that secures data transfers by encrypting data from the beginning of the data transfer to the end. Encryption protects the data against tampering and eavesdropping. SMB server settings manage the encryption implementation using AES-CCM, which also provides data integrity validation (signing). Configure SMB Encryption on a per share basis, or for the entire file server using the PowerShell command.

HPE StoreEasy management console provides a setting for encryption of a file share in the security options for clients using SMB 3.0 and later.
