Physical drive interface types

When populating physical drives for a physical drive type, an interface is selected. HPE StoreEasy supports the following interface types:

• Serial ATA (SATA) provides cost-effective, high-capacity storage for general-purpose file data storage. Use this interface when performance is not the top consideration.

• Serial-attached SCSI (SAS) provides greater performance than SATA disks with higher speed, reliability, and high availability. Use this interface when file data services require more sophisticated application and user workloads.
