Activity

An activity is created when a user or the system initiates a task. For long-running tasks, the activity tracks the task progress, the remaining steps, and the success or failure of the task. Examples of a long-running task are: creating an array, rediscovering storage, or adding physical drives to an array. These tasks are asynchronous in that the user receives an immediate response indicating the task has been started.

Shorter tasks are considered synchronous and the activity provides the success or failure status of the task. System-initiated activities represent tasks the system automatically runs on the management console. For example, when the system gathers storage, memory, and CPU utilization data.

All activities display on the Activity page. The HPE StoreEasy management console updates the activity progress and status every 30 seconds.
