Why do we collect data?

We collect the user interaction and system usage data to help improve the usability of the HPE StoreEasy management console. Data collection helps us in:

  • Enhancing user experience.

  • Measuring application performance

How do we collect?

Opt in to allow the collection and transfer of data to HPE using Share system usage data with HPE.

You can view what data is collected using What data do we collect.

What do we do with this data?

If you have chosen to opt in to share the data, all the collected data is packaged and transferred back to HPE.

The collected data is stored locally in the following folder 
C:\ProgramData\HPE StoreEasy management console\fileupload
on HPE StoreEasy 1000 Storage until transferred back to HPE. The files are generated at 1:00AM (appliance time). HPE StoreEasy 1000 Storage Automatically transfers the files to HPE at 04:00AM (appliance time) every night by default. The collection and transfer time is not user configurable.

The files are transferred in the following sequence:

Sequence Report Name Frequency
1 UX Analytics data Data is collected and transferred every day.
2 Configuration data Data is collected and transferred once every 15 days.
3 Performance Metrics Data is collected and transferred every day.
The following conditions apply to the transferred files:

  • After a successful transfer, the file is deleted from the appliance. A new file is created for the next collection and transfer.

  • An attempt to transfer the file is made again the next night:

    • If a file for transfer does not exist at this time.

    • If there are network disruptions during transfer.

  • If HPE StoreEasy management console is uninstalled during upgrade or downgrade, the data collected is not deleted from the HPE StoreEasy 1000 Storage.

  • HPE retains data collected and transferred for 18 months and is used only for product development and enabling Support.
