Starting up VMware vCloud NFV OpenStack Components

Procedure
  1. Retrieve the iLO IP address of the Management and Resource ESXi servers.
  2. Power on all the Management and Resource ESXi servers.
    NOTE:

    Wait till all the Management and Resource ESXi servers and up and running.

  3. Connect to each ESXi host and exit maintenance mode using one of these options:
    1. Using the vSphere Host Client.

    2. From the shell using the following command:
      esxcli system maintenanceMode set -e false
  4. Login to the Management ESXi node which was identified in the previous procedure. Power on the active management vCenter VM followed by passive management vCenter VM. Wait for the Management vCenter appliance to come up.
  5. Login to the Management ESXi node which was identified in the previous procedure. Power on the active resource vCenter VM followed by passive resource vCenter VM. Wait for the Resource vCenter appliance to come up.
  6. Login to the Management vCenter and to power on the Management vCenter's witness VM, right-click on the VM -> Power -> Power On.
  7. Login to the Management vCenter and to power on the Resource vCenter's witness VM, right-click on the VM -> Power -> Power On.
  8. Login to Management vCenter and power on the following VMs as per the sequence:

    1. NSX-T Manager VM: To power on NSX-T Manager VM, right-click on the VM -> Power -> Power On.

    2. NSX-T Controller VMs: To power on NSX-T Controller VMs, right-click each of the VMs -> Power -> Power On.

  9. Login to Resource vCenter and to power on the NSX-T Edge VMs, right-click on each of the VMs -> Power -> Power On.
  10. Login to Management vCenter and power on the following VMs as per the sequence:
    1. Log Insight Master VM: To power on Log Insight Master VM, right click on the VM -> Power -> Power On.

    2. Log Insight Worker VM: To power on Log Insight Worker VM, right click on the VM -> Power -> Power On.

    3. vRealize Orchestrator Master VM: To power on vRealize Orchestrator Master VM, right click on the VM -> Power -> Power On.

    4. vRealize Orchestrator Data VM: To power on vRealize Orchestrator Data VM, right click on the VM -> Power -> Power On.

  11. Start vRealize Operations Manager VM.
    1. Login to Management vCenter.
    2. Navigate to Hosts and Clusters.
    3. To start up vRealize Operations Data VM, right-click on the VM -> Power -> Power On.
    4. To start up vRealize Operations Replica VM, right-click on the VM -> Power -> Power On .
    5. To start up vRealize Operations Master VM, right-click on the VM -> Power -> Power On.
  12. Start vRealize Operations Manager cluster.
    1. Login to Operations manager master node GUI.
    2. Navigate to Management section and select Cluster Management.
    3. Perform the steps mentioned in the Taking Nodes Online section from Shutdown and Startup sequence for a vRealize Operations Manager cluster (59207) in VMware Knowledge Base.
  13. Select vRealize Operations Manager Replica VM and click Take Node Offline/Online icon. Repeat the same for vRealize Operations Manager Data VM.
  14. Login to Management vCenter and power on the VIO manager.

    1. Login to Management vCenter.

    2. Navigate to Hosts and Clusters.

    3. To power on the VIO manager VM, right-click on the corresponding VM -> Power -> Power On.

    NOTE:

    Time taken is approximately 5 minutes.

  15. Start VIO Control Plane virtual machines.
