About hyper-converged infrastructure plane

Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) plane hosts both compute and storage. The HCI plane can use one of the following servers as starter kit:
  • HPE ProLiant DL380

  • HPE ProLiant DL385

  • HPE ProLiant EL8000 (e910 Server Blades)

With the existing pair of data switches, you can expand the starter kit with additional five compute nodes or HCI nodes (compute + storage). For HCI node, only SR-IOV is supported.

The storage option used in the HCI plane is Red Hat Ceph storage. It is a scalable, open, software-defined storage platform that combines the Ceph storage system with the Red Hat Storage Console deployment and management utility, and support services.
