Network bond types

Based on the VNF requirements, the Telco Blueprints support the following packet acceleration technologies:
  • Open vSwitch Data Plane Development Kit (OVS-DPDK)

  • Single root input/output virtualization (SR-IOV)

Network bond types include the following:

  • Management network bond: A Linux bond is created in 802.3ad mode for the management traffic using a single FLR NIC with two ports.

    The management traffic including OpenStack API Access is provided on the management bond.

  • Data network bond: An OVS/DPDK bond is created in either of the three modes (active-backup, balance-slb, or balance-tcp) as required for data traffic. Both the ports of data NIC are paired and treated as one bond.

Based on the hardware selected, following are the maximum number of supported Data NICs and combinations available:
