Recommended memory specifications

The following table provides information on the memory specifications that have been validated as part of a blueprint, reason to consider them, and customization options.

Master node (Intel-based)

The master nodes are HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 Servers with dual socket Gen2 Intel Xeon scalable family processors.

  • Master nodes are allotted to single rank DIMM, 64 GB (2x32 GB)

  • For multiple processor installations, DIMMs were evenly split across the processors.

  • Depending on the per-channel rules, populate the six DIMMs with the highest rank count in white DIMM slots in each channel.

  • In HPE ProLiant Gen10 DL360, DIMMs are populated in multiples of 6 slots per CPU.

    • Minimum DIMM per CPU = 6

    • Maximum DIMM per CPU = 12​

    • Memory support for 2nd Gen CPU : 6-Channel DDR4 @ 2933 MT/s

Worker node (Intel-based)

The worker nodes are HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 Servers with dual socket  Gen2 Intel Xeon scalable family processors.

  • Worker nodes are allotted to dual rank DIMM, 384GB (12x32 GB) for Intel-based compute

  • For multiple processor installations, DIMMs were evenly split across the processors.

  • Depending on the per-channel rules, populate the six DIMMs with the highest rank count in white DIMM slots in each channel.

  • In HPE ProLiant Gen10 DL360, DIMMs are populated in multiples of 6 slots per CPU.

    • Minimum DIMM per CPU = 6

    • Maximum DIMM per CPU = 12​

    • Memory support for 2nd Gen CPU : 6-Channel DDR4 @ 2933 MT/s

  • A minimum of 6 GB of RAM. Add an additional RAM to this requirement based on the amount of memory that you intend to make available to virtual machine instances.

The master nodes are HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 Plus Servers with single socket AMD EPYC family processors.

  • Master nodes are allotted single rank DIMM, 128 GB (16x8 GB)

  • Depending on the per-channel rules, populate the eight DIMMs with the highest rank count in white DIMM slots in each channel.

  • Faster application performance with memory speeds up to DDR4 3200 MT/s.

Worker node (AMD-based)

The worker nodes are HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 Plus Servers with single socket AMD EPYC family processors.

  • Worker nodes are allotted dual rank DIMM, 512 GB (16x32 GB)

  • Depending on the per-channel rules, populate the eight DIMMs with the highest rank count in white DIMM slots in each channel.

  • Faster application performance with memory speeds up to DDR4 3200 MT/s.
