install add

Use install add to decompress .bin images from an .ipe file.

Parameters

ipe-filename: Specifies an .ipe file. The file must be saved in the root directory of a storage medium in the IRF fabric. This argument can be a string in the chassismslotn#storage medium:/filename.ipe format. The storage medium:/filename.ipe section can have a maximum of 63 characters. If the file is saved on the global active MPU, the chassismslotn# section is optional.

medium-name: Specifies a storage medium. If the storage medium is on the global active MPU, use the storage medium: format. If the storage medium is on any other MPU, use the chassism#slotn#storage medium: format.

Usage guidelines

To use install commands for upgrade, you must use .bin image files. If the upgrade file is an .ipe file, use this command to decompress the .bin images files from the .ipe file before you start the upgrade.

To identify software images that are included in an .ipe file, use the display install ipe-info command.
