General guidelines
When you troubleshoot EAD, follow these general guidelines:
To help identify the cause of the problem, collect system and configuration information, including:
Symptom, time of failure, and configuration.
Configuration environment information, including the operation system, database, and database deployment mode.
Log messages and diagnostic information. Go to System Management > System Configuration > Log Configuration to download today's logs.
Steps you have taken and the result.
Make sure you are familiar with EAD and the programs and systems that EAD depends on.
If program file replacement or patch installation is required, use the release notes to verify the hardware and software compatibility.
