Data rate

Data rate is the number of bits transmitted per second. The unit of measure for data rate is Megabits per second (Mbps) or Gigabits per second (Gbps). Transceiver modules, optical, Active Optical Cables (AOC) and Direct Attach over Copper (DAC) products provide the following levels of data rates:
  • 100 Gbps (optical and DAC)

  • 50 Gbps (DAC only at this time)

  • 40 Gbps (optical, AOC, and DAC)

  • 25 Gbps (optical, AOC, and DAC)

  • 10 Gbps (optical and DAC)

  • 1000 Mbps (also known as Gigabit) (optical only)

  • 100 Mbps (also known as Fast Ethernet) (optical only)
