Upgrading from 10.02 to a later release of 10.02

You can upgrade from 10.02 to a later release of 10.02 by:
  • Running the vsx update-software command: Follow the steps in Upgrading switches using the vsx update-software command for required steps before and after running the vsx update-software command.

This command downloads new software from the TFTP server and verifies the download. After a successful verification, the command installs the software to the alternative image of both the VSX primary and secondary switches. The command then reboots them in sequence, the VSX secondary switch followed by VSX primary switch. For example if a switch has booted with the primary image, then the command will install the software to secondary image.

  • Manually upgrading the secondary switch and then the primary switch: Follow the steps in Performing a rolling upgrade. These steps can also be used for upgrading from 10.02 to a later release of 10.02. Do not change network configurations while the primary and secondary switches are at different versions. Make sure that both switches are updated to the same version within two hours.

  • Upgrading both switches at the same time: Follow the steps in Upgrading both switches at the same time. These steps can also be used for upgrading from 10.02 to a later release of 10.02.

  • Running Aruba NetEdit to upgrade to the latest version of VSX. Refer to the Aruba NetEdit documentation.
