BFD features

OSPF, VRRP, and BGP are clients of BFD.

Supported:

• BFD v1
• Asynchronous mode + echo
• Single hop
• IPv4

• RoP, SVI, and LAG interfaces

Not supported:

• MIB support
• IPv6
• Demand mode
• Micro-BFD
• Authentication

• Multi-hop configurations are not supported. (BFD works only for directly connected neighbors. BFD neighbors must be no more than one IP hop away.)

• Loopback, passive, and virtual link interfaces
