PVLAN Interaction with Other Features

VLAN features fall one of the 4 PVLAN configuration categories shown below.

PVLAN configuration categories

C1Configuration Consistency Not Required (CCNR)

The said feature can operate independently on Secondary VLANs versus Primary VLANs. There is no customer use-case or benefit of enabling them together.

C2Configuration Consistency Enforced (CCE)

The Primary VLAN settings must be extended to the Secondary VLANs.The said feature’s configuration will be disallowed On Secondary VLANs and the configuration on the Primary VLAN will automatically be applied to Secondary VLANs.

C3Configuration Consistency Recommended (CCR)

It is recommended that the same configuration be applied to Primary and Secondary VLANs but PVLAN can continue to function although in partial or sub-optimal ways.

C4Configuration Not Allowed (CNA)

The said feature is not allowed on the private-vlans, both primary and secondary.

The actual features and the categories they belong to are listed in the following table.
